VIEW IN MY ROOM
This series of spray paint pieces was inspired by the Dada movement and specifically May Ray. He invented Rayograms by placing objects on photo paper and exposing them to light. These pieces were made in the same way, placing found objects on paper and spray painting. I hope you appreciate the unanticipated results as much as I do. This piece features images made from natural materials. It is a one of kind painting on paper, made on 100% rag paper and is sent unframed.

United States
I grew up in Buffalo, New York and am thankful for my early exposure to art through the Albright Knox Art Museum’s excellent collection. My work has moved from collage and calligraphy to assemblage and mixed media. I love working with both fine art and every day materials to see how they combine to form textures, patterns and surprises. My interests include the history of writing and symbols and more recently Climate Change which has been the inspiration for my current work. I also organize community sculpture and mural projects throughout the world. My husband, Carlos Narvaez, is a photographer; we live in Manhattan. My studio is in Long Island City, New York.
