About The Artwork
I am standing on my skin. Here is one of my first explorations of this concept. It came out in late June 2020 political and racial upheaval in our democracy. I struggled to find a way to say yes to my own complacent self in racial disparities. When Robert Rauschenberg painted on rollerskates he was compelled by his intimate connection to modes of transportation. I believe his affinity has linked me to the intimacy I feel underfoot while rolling my paint while I contemplate each image that I make.
