Suculent et Lune Print

In the summer, when I'm not in the studio or busy with mommy duties, I spend my weekends trawling flea markets and charity shops here in rural France looking for interesting objects to use in my paintings, On a pretty grim rainy afternoon while rummaging through the messy end of the brocante I found this 1950's vintage black ice bucket in a dusty wooden crate under some old fashion magazines. I fell in love with the shape and the gold plated handle, but also the imagined life this object might have had. The ice bucket that sat on the drinks trolley in the home of the fashion conscious small town socialite. Inviting her friends over for Friday night aperitif sipping on a glass of Pastis secretly dreaming of living the high-life in 1950's Pris or New York. I titled this piece "Suculent et Lune"
