About The Artwork
Painting on profile picture. This 4 by 3 meter jungle is one of the last works of the Tahitian series. It took over half a year to complete because of the size and the weather and seasons. I began the base at the Church where we were exposing in the middle of the winter. After that period I had to move out all the furniture of my living room to be able to lay it on the ground to work on it. My house was filled up with plants flowers which I observed carefully whilst painting them onto the canvas. Afterwards I had to wait for the rain to stop and the spring to arrive to be able to take it out to the park to be able to finish working on it. It has become a wonderful and magical work of art which immediately transforms the space it is hung in, into a soothing jungle, a breathtaking place.
