About The Artwork

When prince Siddhartha was meditating to attain nirvana, it is said that the Maaraya (devil) sent his three daughters named Thanha, Rathi, Raaga (Greed, Lust, Desire/Passion) to tempt him. Prince Siddhartha had to overcome these temptations to attain nirvana by defeating them. A friend also suggested "The Daughters of Melusine" as an alternative title. Each person brings their own meanings to a painting, so I shall leave it up to you to decide which title you prefer.
