About The Artwork

Honus Wagner was the Hall of Fame shortstop for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He played from 1897 to 1917. Wagner won eight batting titles, tied for the most in National League history with Tony Gwynn. He also led the league in slugging six times, and in stolen bases five times. Wagner was nicknamed "The Flying Dutchman" due to his superb speed and German heritage.

I was born and raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area and currently reside just north of Dallas. Although I have always been interested in art and have dabbled in painting and drawing in the past, I became a full time artist upon retirement from a commercial real estate finance career. Thus far, I have focused on sports images, created in conjunction with a family-run sports collectible business. However, I will also be sharing digital paintings of beautiful sights from travels throughout the world. My preferred medium is digital painting, as I enjoy being able to quickly change from airbrush to watercolor to oil techniques and generally incorporate photography into my work.
