The Pollinator Print

This is a portrait of every person who cares about the environment. The Pollinator has a special relationship with human kind, providing us with food and a thriving diverse planet. The batik background was inspired by the morning light on the walls of my house. The sunlight shows me the changing of seasons by creating light patterns through the trees. I used watercolor spray on a hot press watercolor paper with overlays of fallen leaves to create the batik. The stencil was created with hand cut shapes on paper and is one of a kind, the stencil no longer exists. The dimensions given do not include that matting and frame.
