About The Artwork

This painting was inspired by an experienced sea storm, followed by a dream of a a surreal swimming competitions. It was an exciting and dramatic sight that impressed me with the might of the forces of nature. The Storm is the director of this dramatic and exciting competition, its organizer and judge at the same time. The big wave in its turn is like a curtain of theatrical performance, behind which the scenery changes and the sunshine gives to the Swimmers hope of survival. Acrylic paints and wax crayon on canvas.

Dreams inspire most of my creative work. In my view, dreams are of great value because they store a large number of ideas, stories and characters. I think also that some dreams bring a message which can be important to someone. So I want to share them with other people. In my artworks I try to find the optimal balance between drawing and painting. I am fascinated by the black and white free-line-drawing which is very lightweight and able to perfectly convey any character. In its turn the color is important to express the general mood or to put accents. After studying in art academies, I continue to experiment and to improve this technique on paper and on canvas using ink and chalk crayons for drawing.
