About The Artwork
Through mountain passes thick with snow Where blizzards whirl and ice winds blow What impulse drives a maiden fair With forest beast and sprite of air? What quest of horror or delight calls forth such travellers to these heights? This is my first fantasy painting, though I prefer to think of it as Imaginative Realism. I love white animals and the clarity of snow and mountain air. I have a lifelong fascination with the idea of the feminine force and a bonding affinity with wild animals and that is in play in this series of paintings. There is a mystery here and the short poem above is for the viewer to ponder and decide! The Painting itself is on block canvas with the edges painted to so does not need framing. It can however be framed if you wish.
