About The Artwork

Painting of a blacksmith on canvas it is impressionistic and made with playful abstraction and thick paint. I was inspired by the great impressionism painters and decided to contain areas with different texture and let my soul lay paint as it pleases to make it interesting to look at. I tried to not deviate to strong colors until the red hot steel where I used pure almost phosphorescent paint, to try to give the effect. It has a beautiful museum quality handmade frame made by a Mexican family own business. The painting will be carefully shipped inside a wooden crate and soft materials.

AVAILABLE FOR ARTWORK COMISSION Self taught, full time artist. Born in Mexico City 1996. "The practice of painting drives one to stillness and seeing things as they are, When I am painting without my ego is when I can truly get in direct touch with the image and supplement it with colors textures and shapes that are instinctually beautiful, and come from within". Andres Portillo started painting and drawing since he was a child and decided to become a full time artist at the age of 21. Andres likes painting realism and impressionism, from calculated strokes that resemble mosaic art, to glazes, scratches and thick paint that could be seen in a modern art painting. For Andres painting comes from the joy of living and the practice. Subject matter isn´t restricted in any way for him for his paintings range from still life, landscapes, portraits, animal art and everything that would inspire him to paint. Painting every day and being the toughest critic of himself he is inspired by the top classic and modern realism painters, making him decided to develop and evolve his skill as his life continues.
