"Then She Lit a Candle" formed part of the first Collection of seven nude paintings “Aspects of Love” by British artist Janette Lockett, which was commissioned by a leading Harley Street Clinic in London. Using pastels applied to a quality white art board, Janette's nudes are painted in a similar style to the artist's equestrian paintings.

Janette Lockett was born in Yorkshire, England in 1963. Her passion for horses developed as a young child. Having found the perfect setting for her creative talent in Andalusia, Spain, she began her career as a self-taught equestrian artist and has had much success with her work internationally. Janette paints with a unique style using pastels. Known primarily for her equestrian paintings, Art Equus, Janette also paints ethereal nudes in shades of grey.
