ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Following on from an escapist digital Covid project called 'The Island' I continued to dwell on the idea of an isolated paradise and tried some ambitiously large watercolours. This is the idea of a dense forest with a river coming down from the mountain. The tropical kind of striped bark and the colour of the trees coupled with the fruitful mountain led to the title.

I was a painter to begin. I started doing computer art in the late 70s, programmed at first but then evolving into a couple of strands of practice. Today the painting and the computer work interact sometimes, because of digital media I also retrieve and revisit old work when it merits it.
