About The Artwork
These works are a practise on mindfulness. They grew out of a personal need to be silent and to listen. Prior to starting the work I pose questions such as: what direction do my body and soul want to guide me in? I then start making the repetitive marks. The repetition is a way of quieting my mind, as I’m pulled into the silence I can then listen to my body and my intuition. To what it wants to create and thus, in this fluid manner, I create the work. These works can be seen as a diary. A piece a day, entirely based on intuition. This work is made with watercolour on watercolour paper.
