Linda Finstad Artist / Author / Creative genius Eccentric and quirky are words often used to describe Linda Finstad and her unique style of art. She not only portrays the outside of her subjects but also gives each one a personality. Sometimes they are sweet sometimes they are sassy. It doesn’t matter if it is an animal or an angel Linda gives them a voice and they always have something to say. Linda uses a variety of mediums to create her art including acrylic paint, watercolour and some less conventional mediums such as coffee. Her latest collection includes art created from a variety of extremely unusual materials. Some would call her a creative genius others a delusional artist. Finstad taught herself braille so she could include it in her tactile art compositions. Her use of heavy acrylic allows her landscapes to come to life under the fingertips of the vision impaired. Her inclusive art form is called BrailleArt her interactive art allows everyone to experience the same art in different -- yet equally powerful -- ways. The messages sculpted in braille are sometimes prayers, inspirational quotes or poignant words of encouragement. Finstad is breaking the golden rule - “Look but don’t touch” she invites people to touch her art.
