ABOUT THE ARTWORK

In my local area we live close to the beautiful Tuggerah Lakes. There are a lot of fishing boats and caravans and sailing boats out the front of some of the houses. The other day I passed by a house down by the lake that had two sail boats fully rigged ready to be launched with Dad and the kids all eager to go. I thought that scene looked good enough for a painting. Picasso once said " it took him a life time to paint like a child " Well in my case, I am a 70 year old child that never learnt to paint like an adult. So this painting is my childish interpretation of the scene down by the lake. The painting is 120 cm wide and 90 cm high and 4 cm deep It weighs 2.8 Kgs On the back is a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity. It is wired ready to hang and has felt cushions to protect your walls. It is finished in a subtle satin varnish that enhances the colour and protects the paint.

Patrick has lived on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia for over 60 years. His work reflects parts of his life with a bold and vibrant colour palette. His introductory works were mainly contemporary in nature, consisting of lively acrylics on a wildly textured plaster bases. The assortment of bases gives Patrick’s work depth, while the bulk and shadow lines bolster the pieces character. As Patrick’s work is evolutionary his latest style remains contemporary abstract. He uses various mediums and acrylics in fluid states to produce a mixture of abstract colours and shapes. Most of Patrick’s inspiration comes from the everyday world around him. He enjoys the challenge of mastering different techniques. Patrick has had many exhibitions, either solo or combined with other artists. He has won acclaim and awards for his abstract imagination. His work is displayed in galleries on the Central Coast and in private collections. .
