A god lies next to us and gives no direction She tells us to avoid the wide road It's filled with people Forsake the narrow road Without Christ we shall fall. And puts us on a silk road of comfort A god lies next to us venerating the elders Assigning women husbands and menial tasks Like cleaning streets She distracts men with senseless entertainment Wrestling or galloping the plains Dangling a headless goat. A god lies next to us Her temple has intricately engraved pillars Lifting up marble ceilings for our delights. Beautiful chandeliers that replace the constellations With their blinding lights Of great repute she purchases souls In exchange for her past cultures. A god lies next to us and if you doubt her powers Look at the buildings, they still have their magnificence Even in their ruins.
