About The Artwork

Meanwhile I know that it is common in Florence that the name of the hotel is written next to the door in one of the upper floors. It is possible that there is more than one hotel in the same building. Our landlord didn´t live in the same building so he told us to give him a call 10 minutes before our arrival. I´ve heard this many times before now, and every time I wonder how a stranger should know that they will arrive in exactly 10 minutes. The room in the “Corte dei Principi” was spacious and beautiful with a decent table which was also made for people with longer legs. During daylight I enjoyed the view over the rooftops of the city, which inspired me to detect a certain pattern within the rooftops while painting. When looking down I could see the atrium full of garbage bags. On eye level slightly to the right I noticed the terrace where we used to have breakfast.
