About The Artwork
A study of life and evolution at a cellular level... Cells are the basic structural unit of all living organisms, everything on the planet that is alive is either a cell or a collection of cells. They are the smallest entities to have the core characteristics of life, and they work according to the same basic principles of all larger life forms. By re-imagining the thousands of chemical reactions in the chemical reactions of paint, we can reflect on the complexity of creating life, its spontaneity and its beauty. The artwork consists of 2 canvases. They are not framed, the sides are finished well enough to hang without a frame. The colours are bright and vibrant, with tactile wavy textures. The background is turquoise, the orange and yellows are fluorescent which is hard to convey in the photography. I would recommend hanging them 3 inches or 7cm apart, side by side horizontally. This particular work also looks good hung one over the other vertically, there is a visual example of this in the image gallery.

I was born in London and raised in South Devon. I consider myself very lucky to have grown up by the sea where nature is abundant. Having worked in London and Bristol for 15 years I've moved back to Torquay to be close to family and a slower pace of life.
