About The Artwork

This piece was made as an ode to the Golden Age of Scientific Illustration that flourished in the 19th century. During this era, visionaries like John James Audubon crafted exquisite artworks, celebrating the avian diversity that graces our planet. In this homage, I endeavor to breathe life into garden birds, meticulously rendering their plumage with a profound dedication to detail and a commitment to capturing the naturalistic essence that defined Audubon's masterpieces. Immersed in the allure of nature, I find solace and inspiration working en plein air, hidden away in the sanctuary of my garden. The very surroundings that inspired the scientific illustrators of the 19th century now breathe life into my brushstrokes. With each session, I strive to capture the essence of the garden birds as they flit and flutter amidst the foliage, embodying the poetry of the natural world. The title, "Who Has Seen The Wind," is borrowed from the poetic verses of Christina Rossetti. Just as Rossetti's words evoke the intangible, my artwork seeks to capture the elusive beauty of the garden birds in their fleeting moments. The marriage of art and poetry invites viewers to ponder the delicate dance between the seen and the unseen, a theme that resonates through the ages. Please Note: Colors depicted may vary on different monitors. If you seek a specific tone or are uncertain about the true colors in any of my paintings, feel free to reach out for additional information. I'm more than happy to provide further details or assistance to ensure your satisfaction.

She is an emerging artist inspired by color and nature, creating works where even the smallest things have their place. She employs classic techniques as watercolor to achieve the immediacy and spontaneity of the medium and oil to create subtle color harmonies, relatively static compositions and simple forms, to make up imaginary, dreamlike landscapes, sometimes as taken from children's books. Following Walter Benjamin’s thoughts, she always tries to give the ‘aura’ to her works, that is, investing an object with human qualities and emotions, where the painting value will come largely from its exclusivity. Her paintings and illustrations hang in private collections around the world.
