About The Artwork
This painting in Oil on Canvas is heavily textured. A magical winter evening with 3 young people walking through the town. The work hearkens back to times in my youth when I was in high school with friends who had so many things to share and talk about. Though I only remember a few ot the things we spoke of, it really makes no difference now. We were young and life was calling us to its enchantments and we all had our take on what they meant. We were finding our way, totally new into the adult life that lay ahead of us. Everything passes but memories linger and though that time has gone, the beauty of it remains and I hold it dear. This painting almost always gets a joyful reaction from people who visit my home. .

Painting and sculpting for over 50 years. Started in the early 1960's. Joined the Merchant Marines in my early twenties and set off to paint and draw around the world. Hitchhiked around Europe and Morocco for about a year and met wonderful artists in many places. Highlight was visiting Salvador Dali at his home in Spain. Back in the 70's it was much safer to hitchhike and camp out as you journeyed and I ventured around for about a year meeting wonderful young artists. Through the years, I've worked many jobs, in factories, offices etc. Eventually became a general contractor, however, the one thing I always did was keep my love of painting and sculpting. Had many art shows in the Los Angels area for about 30 years, managed to break new ground every once in a while, get acclaimed in the Art Realm for 15 seconds by the media, then relegated back onto the treadmill. Such is the life of artists who are in it for the Long Run. It's Cool, Is what it is and I've no complaints.
