About The Artwork
As part of a London based collection i spent many hours photographing the streets in all different weathers and times of the day. The changing of weather and light always draws me in. Each photograph capturing a different reflection or moment in time, a different colour in lights and a different memory. Abstracting my own photographs is always the finishing point. I paint in a way that the viewer can make up there own mind what they see and feel as it reminds them of there own moments within a similar landscape. In fact not knowing what its of is what i prefer.

Michelle graduated from Central St Martins College of Art and Design with a degree in Textiles Design. Her speciality was print making. Hand painting her screens gave her work a loose painterly and expressive immediacy. After collage Michelle never left London. Working on feature films in costume departments for over ten years Michelle has now returned to her first love, painting and has set up her Art studio near her home with views of the Big City. Her work usually starts with a series of her own photographs which capture a Beauty and simplicity in the human world. She then distils the compositions down to a raw, abstract, engaging interpretation through mixed media, collage and paint. The simplicity of her aesthetic belies a rigorous and frenetic work ethic which prevents her from 'overthinking' and stifling her mark making.
