Born in Darwin and raised in tropical North Queensland, I studied illustration first out of school, moved to the Sydney area beginning a varied artistic career first in book publishing and illustration, studied painting at Wollongong University, moved to the South Coast, raised two children, studied graphic design, then worked in community art with teenagers and in Northern Territory remote desert communities. Now living on the south coast of New South Wales and focusing on painting and drawing. I have exhibited locally around Bowral, Canberra, South Coast, Wollongong areas and a residency and exhibition in Vallauris, South of France last year. I love cartoons, muppets, children’s art, naive and primitive art and have long been fascinated by the expressionists and surrealists. Inspired by childhood images, dreams, mythology and metaphysics, I wish to create a magical, mysterious world of animal-human creatures frolicking happily in gardens, and to be a shaman of sorts, reconnecting us with nature and the divine.
