About The Artwork

A 3 color monochrom image. Was shot in late afternoon on the dry sands formerly been "Aral - Sea". People used to live here, fishing industry, vacation industry etc'. But a man made ecological disaster, cut the water which feed the huge lake in favour of Cotton fields in the desert, ended it all. All that remain are some rusty ships skeletons standing on the sand in the middle of a desert. I treated the image in such a way that portray the sad story and bad situation of the ship on one hand but ,at the same time, brings hope for a better future, maybe filling up the lake with water. For this reason the ship look like jumping in the air (although it stuck in the sand) toward a blue / cian sky that can also be water. The technique was building a Black and White image tinted in three colours: Yellow/Orange/braun - for the sand and rust Cian - for the hope in the horizon and Blue for decaying the dark shadows.
