About The Artwork

Interval The feeling of a lost grace, the exhaustion of the roots moldering in front of a community living together with a suspended city. Forgotten islands that the nature is slightly removing from collective consciousness. “Interval” is my trip in a location analogous to contemporaneity, in a surreal and hidden place that still belongs to the urban context but lives in a state of neglect, carelessness and indifference. The looks of those who made his glory look disappointed, but they light up when they need to narrate the story. The story of those who were used to work in those places, keeping those locations alive, and that gave up facing a routine that doesn’t allow any sentimentalism, those that need to come to term with a lazy, utopian evolution, an evolution that seems to be an involution, more than other things. Here they are our museums, our cathedrals, stuck to the time they’ve stopped working, frozen in one of the several capitals of emigration.
I’ve focused observing what “these places today are, thinking what they were in the past” (Calvino, 1972) and I’ve fulfilled metaphorical images so far away from collective consciousness of those who have experienced it, and entirely new for the next generations. A personal look contemplating the sings of memory, weaves and details of every individual, the story, the beauty, the feeling and the hurts, the poem, the absurdity, the paradox and the darkness. Interval: “hold out against the crumbling away of the present to get ready to face the fury of the upcoming future” (Arminio, 2011). ___ Printed on Hahnemühle FineArt; 325 grams Paper. Print is a limited edition of twentyone, signed, numbered and dated. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity & Hologram System

Photographer based in Rome. My work aims to create a personal and interior truth, never absolute. As a photographer, using a point of view never univocal, I select , include and exclude those elements I need to reach a vision I previously had. Photography is a tool I use to synthesize different point of views by representing a real thing. My world is made of spaces, I search for an aesthetic vision of all the places I live and walk through. I look at them with a democratic eye, never picking favorites.
