About The Artwork

This image is part of the Square series, meant to be printed by 4 or 9 and displayed together preferably in a shadow box. Ice is a fascinating matter, its random transparency and the temperature it immediately gives to the image. Here I was interested in how the iconic cigarette pack remains clearly identifiable even trapped inside a frosted block of ice. Also, the ice makes it impossible to touch what is trapped inside giving an out-of-reach sensation, which, I think, is really cool.

I believe in movement... and gentleness, I have a profound admiration for S. Salgado, A. Kurosawa, and J.L. Borges. I do not like pictures of the sunset, junk food on my plate, and people who say everything is great.
