The photo is part of an interdisciplinary project, inspired by Italian poet Roberto Piumini’s fairy tale. He’s a creator of a children's television program called "Albero Azzurro" popular in Italy. The fairy tale was read via Skype by the author during an exhibition to a group of Chinese children. It's about a little girl who, while playing ball, loses her name, which is stolen by an elf. Hence arise all the identity uncertainties, which are assuaged when she finds her name again. I hope these photos convey the importance of a person's first name in the Individual/Society relationship, and the importance of preserving culture for a globalized world respectful of the history of peoples. The subjects represented are Chinese young students, moving around the world for study reasons. They lose their name in place of a typical name of the city where they are located. So 刘璐璐 LIU LU LU which means beautiful like jade, in Naples she calls herself Maria; 吕沐熹 LU MU XI which means lying to the sun, he calls himself Marco, and so on.. The photos with a "social" style frame the students with a game ball and a paper poster, where their real name is written in calligraphic style. Photos awarded at the 2013 “Arte” Prize by Cairo Editore, exhibited at the “Palazzo della Permanente” in Milan and included in the “Arte” magazine by Cairo Editore. I have taken this photo wit a Canon 500D within Academy of Fine Arts. The photo will be printed inkjet on 120gr FineArt Photo paper with a Matt finish and no white border. The image size is 27,56" x 39,37". It will be shipped rolled, securely inside a shipping tube numbered and signed. Certificate of Authenticity also included.
