Photography is capturing the Soul but Painting is fall in love from soul’... As a conceptual artist and fine art/fashion photographer, I worked passionately to develop paintings/photograph that speaks to me and others about the beauty that exists in the underlying human emotions. Part of my process, before I begin painting, is to read and observe keenly as much as I can about the specific set of lifestyles concentrating more on the Female entity which I recreate on canvas. I do not merely want to capture the image with my brushes; rather, with careful, colorful strokes, I want to give those underlying emotions, which remain hidden in the womb of nature, a lively entity which forces the viewer to pause to watch my work and in turn; introspect to give correction in real life. My work involves more on female subjects; the reason may be because of me being a female. I have closely watched the minute details in which I have been groomed and brought up in a religious family. I try with every finished work to breathe life into the hidden emotions of both Eastern and Western culture so that its designs, ideas, innovations, and lifestyle are displayed on my canvas. The challenges which often is same in both part of the world, as with any recreated moment from the past, is to not caricature the moment and instead capture it in a way a ordinary layman understands. My artwork speaks, not only for me, but for people who were long ago silenced in distant cultures of the world. Overall my works are amalgamation of paintings and photographs which culminates in not only art exhibitions but also fashion photography with a mixed composition of fine art and contemporary fashion. My techniques on canvass are realistic in approach. In addition, I try to bring fine art into fashion photography by creating concept in my photography. Both my art works, (painting, installations) and photography, are amalgamation of same subjects and a game of light and shades. I was born in India, and did my masters in painting & art history and accomplished a certificate course on photography. My works have featured in reputed magazines both in India and abroad. I participated in more than hundred group shows and 5 solo shows across India and abroad. Participation in Residencies, Symposiums and shows across the globe created a churning inside me and led to a culmination of this series of art work.
