"This artwork is part of a series that delves into the intricate theme of self-representation, using my own image and body to convey universal human experiences that are simultaneously personal and shared: loneliness, failure, and abandonment. In this work, the concept of 'shelter' is approached with a personal and ironic touch, meticulously staged to perform and reenact a state that exposes my fragility and, by extension, the fragility inherent in all of us. The 'shelter' in this context is interpreted as the skin, representing the last delicate boundary separating 'self' from 'other,' the external world from the inner realm, and reality from one's personal inner world, where memories are stored and preserved. 'Shelter' also carries political undertones, drawing inspiration from those who grapple with life on the fringes of society, making do with makeshift shelters on the streets to shield themselves from the elements. I've documented the resourcefulness of homeless individuals in creating these 'shelters,' reflecting their innate need for protection and safety. This work is not only a visual and artistic response to this pressing issue but also an observation of the challenges individuals commonly face when seeking their place, not just within their social context, but also within their own intimate environment.

United Kingdom
Italian artist based currently in London. Her artistic practice investigates and questions the persuasive power of the image and of the visual language. Her body of work incorporates intimate yet universal experiences such as loneliness, abandonment, fear for emotional nakedness and failure. In touching on these topics, she aims to create a collision between opposite languages: the unreal and the imaginary, the document and the oneiric, the personal memory and the collective, aiming to trigger reactions by invoking primal and visceral emotions. She employs the photographic medium to create visual access to the many different readings of existence. Her work often addresses elements of sexuality, mysticism, body language and nature, to create a tense narrative that provokes and relives at the same time.
