The original photograph was taken on a road trip through Tuscany, it was hot and hazy with so many different greens and yellows. Creating large abstract landscapes in simple bold colour gives me a sense of freedom. They originate from photographs and through a unique corruption process form colours and structures which when combined with digital and mixed media techniques simplify - by stripping away the excess layers of reality - and exaggerate - by revealing the underlying aura of colour. I strive to ground the voyeur and imbue in them a calm sense of place.
