Wellington to Auckland - Limited Edition of 10 Print

It’s just a simple travelogue image, but what I like about it is that you don't often see this kind of subject (an entire island) -from this angle (with the clouds dappled across the landscape. Another thing that appeals to me is the island itself seems to be a "miniature" version of the South Island of New Zealand. I think the teal green Pacific probably betrays the fact that it was taken in New Zealand, as I don't recall seeing that elsewhere. I travelled a couple of times between Wellington and Auckland between 2015 and 2017 while I was working in IT (for an international company). I took a few working holidays with my colleagues -and it was a lot of fun -God knows that there had been plenty of years before that when I hadn't travelled at all -and (loving as I do to travel) it was a drag to stay put in one place all of that time. I think that it is one of the greatest luxuries to travel and It's something that I hope to do a lot more of in the future. The colors are Columbia Blue, Cool Grey, Cerulean Frost, Carolina Blue, CG Red, Celadon Green, and Celadon Blue, White and Cultured, and Charcoal. I get a kind of high out of air travel. This may have been a shot that I took while I was flying to Nelson, to kayak there, or it may have taken while I was flying to Auckland to Zipline on Waiheke Island, or to approach a record company in Auckland, or to go to the Annual Christmas party. For a few years there I had plenty of travel -I was in fact travel spoiled, -for a couple of years -which almost made up for many years of being a house-bound musician. The significance of it for me is: Take that journey, you never know when you won't be able to anymore. God! I can't wait until this pandemic is over!
