With this image, I overlapped the first two polygon arrangements I ever conceived (one morning in 1968 overlooking the Pacific Ocean). They are now designated in the forth row of my Progressive Polygons - Five Variables; both exhibiting a Perspective with an Infinite View Angle. One is ‘sharp’, and the other ‘flat’: meaning one has a Shared Point and the other has a Parallel Side. They both have equal side lengths so they, theoretically, unfold out into an infinitely large circle. We would see sections of two straight lines if the images were not cropped to the tenth polygon (exhibiting the 12 sides for the clock). As with all the designs prominent in my “Polygonum Progredi”, they were originally drawn with pencil on paper, using only a compass, protractor and straight edge. It was not until 1999 that I had begun scanning and vectorizing my designs. I calculated their positions by rotating them so they read 7:13 on the clock (a time I chose for its asymmetrical aesthetics). The hour layer is comprised of yellow and purple shapes; the minute layer is cyan and magenta. I made one layer transparent for effect. A working version of this, printed on transparent mylar, spins around as time passes in my studio.
