Hope Springs Eternal Print

In a time when the world is in so much turmoil, I needed to feel there were possibilities and some optimism. My family has a dear old friend who, no matter what has happened in his life, has always remained positive and optimistic. Indeed, he can't help it! I wanted to create a piece dedicated to him, an inspiring man, that felt as though it was springing from the earth, I was moved by the quote from Alexander Pope's 'Essay on Man' - 'Hope Springs Eternal' and found the colors I needed from my garden. I want the viewer to see the figures but also the whorl's, curves and lines in the sculpture which give a plant-like feel, qa feeling of growing. I had to use a mixture of media to create this piece.
