Lil Bengals #03 Print

Lil Bengals is the third generation of my sculpture series called Dolanan which means to play. The first Dolan an series comes in in the form of terracotta laughing heads. The idea of “playing” was not only used as the theme of its visual aesthetic but also as the concept on creating a unique interaction between the viewers and the object. I expect viewers to see this object as a mirror, an object that communicates with the viewer subliminally. My intention is to let the viewers feel like they are being seen. I expect people to play with the object, putting it in a way that relate to their own interpretation and story. Continuing the ideas of its older generation (Dolanan and Cerita Hantu) , Lil Bengals which means little mischief comes in a different nuance. A joyful boisterous character is still the spirit behind these laughs, but the story slightly change with the used of bright pastel colors. Lil bengals speaks about childhood dreams, fantasy and adventure. The first edition of lil bengals comes in 50 pcs one of a kind natural finish stoneware.
