About The Artwork
Crucified Venus is a sculpture inspired by ancient sculptures, among others, the Venus of Willendorf is a Paleolithic Venus dated between 27,500 and 25,000 BC. c. The work speaks especially of beauty, power and pain. Women of different times. I was interested in bringing those small ceramic or marble venuses to a modern material, polyester resin, to this contemporary time. This small sculpture to be hung on the wall has a clear objective, to be viewed from other places. Crafted with resin and reflective shards, my sculpture embodies raw, visceral energy. As a wall object, its presence resonates with vitality. The interplay of rugged textures and the softness of shapes is a testament to life’s diverse expressions. This piece will infuse any space with a spirit of resiliency, reflection, and profound connection to the human journey.
