Patchwork

“using dried paint in place of fabric to merge art with craft” My interest in quilting has always focussed heavily on the joy of piecing together disparate fabrics, puzzling over visual effects, and creating balance. When it is time to sew, this interest dissipates. In this series, I bring my admiration of patchwork quilts into the art arena. Many paintings are created, pulled from their support, cut, and arranged back onto a canvas culminating in an exuberant pattern combined with mouth-watering colour.
