About The Artwork
Preserved Cottonwood is combined with plaster and vintage and contemporary seed beading to create this fanciful, strange horse head. The smooth yet complex texture of the wood contrasts with the intricate beading. The result is a gesture of the horse, his feeling. Horses are in my blood as I was raised in Maryland horse country. I strive to find the essence of the horse, rather than an exact copy.
