About The Artwork
Using a base of paper, layers of tissue, paint and ink built up using a varnish as an adhesive,the picture evolved.The process of adding and taking away sometimes with a blow torch or tearing,was as much to do with the final result as the inspiration.The inspiration being," On a dark night I left my silent House" by Peter Handke and early morning walks that I took on crisp dark winter mornings.

I was born in October 1959 in Orpington ,Kent, England Currently living in London. 1979 to 1980 foundation in fine art at Ravensbourne college of Art and design 1980 to 1983 B.A (hons) degree fine art painting Maidstone college of Art. Since graduating I have worked as a gardener, X-ray darkroom technician,photo lab manager and a braille diagram maker for the Royal National Institute for the Blind,RNIB. I am currently an artist and a keen cyclist.
