Victor Crepsley is the alter ego of the creative centipede Jason Dolman. Dolman grew up bilingual, as a child of a Dutch father and a Scottish mother, and traveled the world with his family. He saw the replica of the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas before its original in Paris. What is 'real' and what is 'fake'? These are recurring questions in his work, where contemporary visual culture is critiqued through exaggeration and with a good dose of irony. He plays with identity, as demonstrated by his alter ego. This character does everything a little differently, bolder, and more theatrically than Dolman himself. Enter the universe of Crepsley. With neon colors, plastic, candy, electrical devices, and science fiction films from the 1980s, he creates an ironic disposable paradise.
