Quarantine Series: Day 15 - 3/29/2020 Collage

“Day 15 - 3/29/2020” What does modern love, baby brain, and home cooking have in common? For me, it conjures up thoughts of home and hearth. Women, children and men gathering together for thoughtfully cooked meal. Laughing, talking, forgetting your last word because you were laughing so hysterically you almost fall out the seat. It makes me think of the many Sunday family dinners at my parents home when we would eat until we got sleepy, took a nap, then ate some more. All were welcome to the Minor’s Sunday Family dinner. We always had 2 meats, a starch, vegetables and dessert. It was always hearty food that sticks to your “bones”. At times we would have guests. Guests of all types. One guest stood out in particular. She was newly pregnant with “baby brain” memory and used that as excuse to get another slice of my Momma’s famous Midori cake. Oh Midori cake… green glistening liquor cake greatness. Any who back to the main story… the “Baby brained” guest continued to use “oh did I already have two slices? Dear me… baby brain.” Then proceed to eat a third slice.
