About The Artwork
This collage was inspired by some old family photographs that I found whilst clearing out my parents house. There are four kids in the family and I remember endless days of fun. We had a bungalow down on the Sussex coast and we used to go there at weekends and during the school holidays. As an adult I often reminisce about those carefree days which of course do not feature in life anymore. The process of destruction and recreation references a past and present both time periods being alluded to in this piece of work. Hopefully it will trigger happy memories for the viewer.

I was born and brought up in Surrey. My father was Indian and mother from the north of England, Barnard Castle to be precise. They met in Cambridge where my father was studying medicine and my mother was a nurse.They worked together at Addenbrooks Hospital. I am one of four children - my brother is the eldest, then myself and two younger sisters. My anglo Indian heritage is a constant influence in my life and work.
