Art Description

Collage: Paper, Painted Paper and On Heavy Stock Paper on Paper and Other.

Collage inspired by the Russian artist Kasimir Malevich who developed and named his abstract paintings using geometric lines, squares, circles and rectangles Suprematism. This was his reaction against the realist works that were being created around 1913 in Russia. His theories on abstract art was one of the many new art movements surfacing in France, Spain, Italy and Germany from 1908 to the 1920's which inclluded Cubism, Futurism, Dada, DeStijl and Constructivism. In this collage I used cut colored paper, painted paper and marker glued onto a white heavy stock background. The artwork is 28 X 22. With the frame the size is 30 X 24 X 3/4 inch depth as pictured. The white wood frame with plexi glass adds a extra inch all around giving the work a nice finished look and ready to hang. The work is titled, signed and dated on the rear.
