About The Artwork
The work is inspired by research on Afro-indigenous culture. The red icon is a summary. It is a tribute to the native peoples of the Brazilian territory. It is also a tribute to black culture. Original monotypes were made with acrylic paint. Then these monotypes are cut and pasted on 300gr paper. Texture is a research I have used since my first exhibition in 2012. Monotype provides this texture. Geometry is the basis of the work. This work and all others with the same theme, is an attempt to contribute to the preservation of root culture in the world.
