My creative process begins with a deep dive into the world of discarded paper. I search flea markets, charities shops and recycling centres for old books, magazines, newspapers, and other paper products that have been deemed no longer useful. I then cut these materials into new shapes and sizes, reimagining their original purpose and giving them new life as part of my collages. Vintage paper is a central element in my work, and I am continually inspired by its rich history and patina. The textures and colours of these materials, which have been aged with time and use, provide a unique and compelling backdrop for my collages. By layering these papers, I aim to create new narratives that speak to the interconnectedness of our lives and experiences. As an artist, I am also deeply committed to environmental sustainability. By using only discarded materials in my work, I hope to raise awareness about the impact of our consumer culture on the planet. I believe that art has the power to inspire change and that by creating beautiful and meaningful works from discarded paper, I can contribute to a more sustainable and mindful world. Ultimately, my goal as a collage artist is to create works that are both visually stunning and emotionally evocative. I hope that my collages will invite viewers to look more closely at the world around them, to see beauty in unexpected places, and to consider the value of reusing and repurposing in our everyday lives.
