About The Artwork
In 1974 I was creating a series of paintings on canvas in my studio in Japantown. These pieces were stapled to an 8ft by 16ft easel and painted 2 at a time. I had just been studying dance in Toronto and my mind was full of dance poses and movement and this was my expression of that time. The style is my impression of the flow of movement. This piece was another one of my first tests of reworking my compositions digitally. I felt that if the medium could bring about the original texture and feeling of the acrylic painting, then the piece would be a success.
