About The Artwork
Here the confusion of fears and pleasures that Desire stirs are explored and anatomised. The image itself is dissected into a triptych in which looming and dangerously alluring Venus Fly Traps mix with the intimacy and anonymity of the writhing naked bodies on the cold ground. The Venus character is asking the Heart that feeds on these mixed emotions to just surrender with a white flag... Traditional drawing techniques and story-telling are at the heart of my practice. I am inspired by myth as an open-narrative structure and as a symbolic and vivid source of human experience.
