After a work-related long break I started with drawings and paints completely new. I decided to paint more simply, modestly, and calmly. I mainly observed nature and its beauty and tried to capture it. My materials also became simpler. Currently, I use Polychromos pencils on small-format paper. I fo...

Born 1945 I grew up surrounded by art. My aunt a professional fabric designer, my grandfather hobby carver and my uncle map designer and passionate drawer and watercolor painter. Particularly from him I was teached in the basics of drawing and composition. From these early years stems my enthusiasm for art. Paper, pencils, paint brushs and colors I kept it always ready to produce a picture.
Later on I was lucky enough to have a great teacher and artist, Prof. Maillinger, who taught me all the techniques and the art history as well. These years shaped my taste. Velazquez, Goya, Manet, Monet, Cezanne, Matisse, Kandinsky, Lyonel Feininger and some of the american pop art artists are still my favorites. Later Edward Hopper, Willem de Kooning and Francis Bacon joined them. I'm convinced now that informel (often mistakenly called abstract painting) is the most difficult style with the greatest potential of abuse. So I do it very carefully with a large expenditure of time. The use of alcohol or drugs does not seem useful to me.
Years together with Ruth Kohler-Prym and Gunter Radloff and the group 'Spur' at the 'Feldafinger Malschule' I was introduced and trained in the essences of making honest true art, whatever that is.
Well, I had to earn my money. My university study has ended with a degree in Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, whatever that is, and I worked as IT Manager at Daimler-Benz, Vice director at Novartis, CEO of an IT company and as an independent consultant for 'big data' with trading companies. Not much time doing artwork. Still, I found that time and came back to drawing and painting. I produced acryilic and oil paintings on bigger formats, which sells not to bad on various exhibitions with the help of an art consultant. This was in the late 90's. My prices now are oriented to these historic ones.
As being back 2024 after this long break (writing and publishing 15 technical books and novels) I have decided to become modest and simple. Therefore I started with small formats, using the wonderful pencils of Faber Polychromos. And let me tell you, it is great. My style? Well, knowing and loving various 'styles', I try to use the 'right one' for every subject. This makes my pictures looking different. So what.
By the way: I have to tell I love nature from a scientific point of view and its beautiness and harmony as well and admire and love my dogs.
