Birds In The Hood Drawing

I do a lot of volunteer work for a non profit that specializes in rehabilitating wounded birds. Each of the birds in this series is based on an actual bird that came through the center as a rescue and was rereleased or made into an educational bird.These drawings are made on hand made paper and so their is a great deal of texture and detail. These images were inspired by a love of nature, but even more specifically, by the desire to bring about a greater awareness of both the beauty and fragility of these great creatures, many of whom are rapidly disappearing.
