Blooming Drawing

Last few months, I thought to draw this lotus flowers by using soft pastel. Finally I tried and I didn’t expect the outcome will be something like this. The lotus is a very beautiful flower. It has big petals shaped like a boat and large round leaves. The leaves have a waxy coating. This flower grows in shallow water bodies like ponds and lakes that are not deep. The flower is usually light pink or white. The Lotus is known as the national flower of India. It stands for the culture and heritage of the country. The lotus flower also signifies purity, knowledge, and beauty. The lotus flower is considered sacred and has a special place in temples. The lotus needs a lot of sunlight and damp soil to grow. All its parts are edible. They have medicinal uses too. We also use this flower to decorate our homes. It is an original, homemade soft pastel drawing protected with pastel varnish to avoid smudging.
