About The Artwork
When I see hawk moths, I always associate them with hummingbirds. They have such delicious hairy belly and such shaggy wings, and their proboscis is like elephants - they are so pretty, fluffy, cute! Very fantastic animals! And I wanted to reflect in this work the lightness, fragility of their life, to capture this moment - how pretty, small, sweet, light they are. A hawk moth is depicted on a flower that blooms at night and closes during the day. When the flower is not completely closed in the morning, you can still drink nectar from it. And I wanted to show this moment - before the flower closes. That morning has come, the hawk moth is still eating, having breakfast, and the flower is already closing. And here he is, the last drops of dew, the last drops of nectar, trying to drink from this flower with his proboscis.
