About The Artwork

Chinese ink, pastel iridecent on paper stretched on wood. --- When people burn down the forest, we label them as either pyromaniacal, poor, or financially motivated. There comes an emotional ambiguity when one stands before a burnt forest that oscillates between fascination and repulsion. We should consider the contradiction between the growth of our vital needs and the risks inflicted on our planet. --- Black trunks on white background. --- In my works, I use black and white and two graphical methods: The first: somber vertical wrinkles for the trees and black fillings for the charred branches. The second, for the backdrop: iridescent pastel.

Born in 1955 in Vincennes / France - Advanced degree ENSAD / Paris1979 - 231, rue de Versailles 92410 Ville d'Avray / France - Tel: 33(0)644237974 - Where there is chaos, the artist has the power to bring enlightenment. The tree theme allows me to reach out to the people with my techniques, about the frailty of our planet and the cruelty of deforestation. It excites them to the plight of our shared environment and the need for its protection., I draw with the same mind as I do with my engraving studies. I like to invent my own methods. A few of my techniques took up to 20 years to perfect. My mylar method offers fantastic possibilities to work the front and back supports, and allows the layers to be seen transparently. It results in a profound way where different techniques can mix together and yet retain its separate identity. The result fixes the acrylic, ink and oil on the pastel and magnifies it."
